Ten years ago our developers created special SW tool TKZ++ for modeling of networks and short circuit calculation. TKZ++ automates simulation of fault conditions in power systems. Different phase–to-phase and phase-to-earth damages within power system are simulated as well as some (cascade) complex accidents. The calculation results (currents, voltages in different points of power system) can be used for automatic selection of protection setting parameters and test at the same time sensitivity of different protection functions under specific fault conditions. It is also possible to check primary equipment for thermal and dynamic stability and analyze real fault conditions. The tool can process large models – it was tested on a real network with 7500 nodes.
Furthermore, Relematika engineers efficiently use well-known software and excellent real-time simulator for research and develop new and reliable algorithms of relay protection devices and system integrity protection scheme. Protection functions and internal logic within IEDs are strongly exposed to improvement of IED behavior during abnormal conditions and preventing unwanted operations.
